Former Roma defender Christian Panucci admits he would love to return to the club one day in a managerial capacity. The 45-year-old turned out over 250 times for the Giallorossi between 2001 and 2009 before eventually calling time on his playing career in 2010.
Panucci has since stepped into management with roles at Livorno and Ternana before taking up his current position in charge of Albania.
The former defender, who also played for the likes of Real Madrid, Chelsea and AC Milan, admits it would be a dream come true to take charge of Roma, although he isn’t looking to put any pressure on current boss Eusebio Di Francesco.
Panucci said: “Going back to where you played is beautiful.
“Roma in particular would be a dream for the emption experienced. I wish Di Francesco to stay for many years, but I hope that sooner or later life and destiny take me there.”
