Watford’s Ben Foster believes their team spirit has been key to his side’s fast start to the campaign. The goalkeeper spent a couple of seasons on loan at Vicarage Road earlier in his career and returned to Hertfordshire this summer following West Brom’s relegation.
Foster has started all four games in 2018-19, helping the Hornets win their opening quartet of top flight fixtures for the first time in their history.
At 35, the former England shot-stopper has been there and done it in the dressing room and says the atmosphere Javi Gracia has cultivated is one of the key ingredients in their rise.
“I’ve had some good team spirits [in my career] and joining a new team you are always a bit apprehensive, but the lads have been so good with me,” said Foster.
“I’ve slipped right in and it’s like I have been here for years. They are just a good set of lads. We’ve got a good mix of a British core and a good mix of foreign players who are good lads.”
