Leicester have reportedly joined Southampton in showing an interest in Sampdoria midfielder Dennis Praet and may make a January bid. The 24-year-old has been with the Serie A side since 2016 and made 67 appearances for the Genoa-based club.
The former Anderlecht ace, capped once by Belgium back in 2014, appeared set to leave the Blucerchiati in the summer when Newcastle United were heavily linked but the Magpies could not agree a fee.

He ended up staying at Stadio Luigi Ferraris but, according to Calciomercato, is now being scouted by the Premier League duo and may be the subject of interest in the winter window.
One stumbling block is the potential fee as Praet’s current contract has a release clause of £23m, but it has been reported that the Italian outfit are hoping to agree new terms with the player in order to up the minimum requirement for a transfer to take place.
Praet is not a goalscoring midfielder and has bagged just two for Sampdoria to date, while he netted 27 times in 182 outings for Anderlecht.
