Leicester are reportedly keeping tabs on Japan international Shoya Nakajima, who currently plays in Portugal with Portimonense.
The 24-year-old winger only joined his current club on a permanent basis during the summer, but he has enjoyed a successful start to the Primeira Liga season, scoring four goals and providing three assists from his seven appearances to date.
That impressive form certainly appears to have come to Leicester’s attention and the Foxes already have one Japan international within their ranks in Shinji Okazaki.
Assistant manager Jacques Bonnevay also has experience of the Japanese market, as he has previously coached in the country and it appears he has put boss Claude Puel on red alert to Nakajima’s quality.
Reports claim Bonnevay will watch Nakajima in action when Portimonense take on Nacional in the Primeira Liga on Friday and he also plans to hold talks with the Portuguese club and the winger’s representatives after that match.
