Christian Fuchs believes it’s inevitable that star defender Harry Maguire will move on despite signing a new deal at Leicester City.
Maguire has enjoyed a swift rise in the game and was a key figure for England over the summer as the Three Lions reached the semi-finals of the World Cup in Russia.
The former Sheffield United and Hull City defender was strongly linked with a move away from the King Power Stadium in the summer, but Leicester managed to fend off interest from Manchester United.
Maguire has since signed a five-year deal with the Foxes although Fuchs claims it’s inevitable the 25-year-old will move on to a bigger club in the future.
“Him signing a long-term contract with Leicester shows commitment and the club have done well keeping him because he is massively important for our team,” said Fuchs.
“But most likely a player like that will leave at some point, it’s just normal, for personal reasons as well because you want to excel in your career.
“It’s normal that when you play as great as he did at the World Cup and also put in constant good performances in the Premier League – it obviously attracts bigger teams.”
