Graeme McDowell has praised the performance of Emiliano Grillo as the duo moved into a share of the QBE Shootout lead on day one.
Northern Irishman McDowell, who last tasted success at the 2015 OHL Classic at Mayakoba, and Argentine Grillo were partnered together for the first time in the Florida event and made an excellent start.

The duo made 12 birdies, one eagle and a single bogey to sign for a sensational 13-under-par 59 to move into a three-way share of the lead, alongside the pairings of Kevin Na/Bryson DeChambeau and Patton Kizzire/Brian Harman.
Speaking about the fast start, McDowell hailed the display of his partner and the 2010 US Open champion believes his game needs to sharpen up if they are going to lift the trophy.
“The key to playing well in events like this is, you know, just having a great partner really,” he told golfbytourmiss.com “I always say, What’s the key to a great Ryder Cup record? Having great partners.
So, Emiliano and I nearly played together last year. We played a little bit together and hung out. “He’s obviously playing great towards the end of the season and he played really, really well today. I was very average, to be honest.
I came in when I was needed a few times, but I’ve got a little bit of improving to do to keep up with my man here this weekend.”
