Gattuso Wants More After Milan Win

Gennaro Gattuso praised his AC Milan side after the last-gasp win over Genoa but says it is just the start and is demanding more. The Milan boss was feeling the pressure following the recent derby defeat against Inter, but they have bounced back well and have now jumped up into fourth place in Serie A.

Milan left it very late when beating Genoa 2-1 last night, with Alessio Romagnoli striking in stoppage time to secure a crucial and much-needed three points.

Gattuso is happy to move into the Champions League places but says his side cannot get carried away and need to keep moving forward. “The victory has allowed us to reach fourth place, but this is just a first step,” he told reporters after the game.

“We now have to demonstrate that we can remain in that position. “We made things complicated by conceding an incredible goal but being able to bring the victory home is a good sign. I continue to do my job and what we’ve been through is a good sign.”
