Trainer Tom George believes Double Shuffle can challenge when making his seasonal return at Wetherby on Saturday. The eight-year-old will be hoping to kick off his jumps season in style in the Grade Two bet365 Charlie Hall Chase on Saturday.
Double Shuffle put in a stunning display when finishing second by a length to Might Bite in the King George VI Chase at Kempton last Christmas.
George is confident the ground will suit his charge in a wide-open field after the likes of Thistlecrack and Bristol de Mai were not declared. “He’s in good form. He’ll get his ground, he hasn’t had it for a bit. It’s a starting point,” said George.
“He had a nice summer and has been in since July. He’s in good form and we’re looking for a nice run. “He obviously seems to be better round Kempton than anywhere else but I think Wetherby should suit him. It’s a flat track, which he likes, and he likes the better ground so let’s hope he can show his Kempton form.”
