Gracia Keen To Focus On Positives

Javi Gracia said he missed Etienne Capoue’s tackle on Wilfried Zaha as he focused on Watford’s “amazing” run of three straight wins. The Hornets boss was keen for his side’s 2-1 win against Crystal Palace at Vicarage Road on Sunday, courtesy of goals from Roberto Pereyra and Jose Holebas, not to be overshadowed by the post-match talk about Coupe’s challenge on Eagles’ goalscorer Zaha.

Palace boss Roy Hodgson felt it was a red-card offence, but Gracia insisted that he didn’t see the incident, while he was keen to wax lyrical about his team’s overall display.

He said: “I didn’t see the action. It was a rainy day with many contacts.

“To get three wins in a row is something special. Something amazing.

“We are enjoying the moment knowing it’s only the beginning, but we have done three important steps. But only three. We need to keep going.”

Of Pereyra, who has now scored three goals in as many games, Gracia added: “He has scored many goals and is an important player for us.”
