Arsenal are weighing up a move for Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira, who could be available on a free transfer. The 22-year-old has struggled to make the grade at Old Trafford after arriving at the club in 2014 and a move away looks to be on cards at the end of the season.
The youngster looked to have played his way into the plans of United boss Jose Mourinho at the start of the season, but he has since slipped back down the pecking order once again.
The Brazil international has not made an appearance in over a month and looks unlikely to pen a new deal before his current one expires in the summer.
That has kicked off suggestions he could sign a pre-contract agreement with a club in January, with Arsenal said to be leading the way for his signature.
Gunners boss Unai Emery is looking for midfielders with Aaron Ramsey heading for the exit door, and although Pereira may not be seen as a direct replacement, he could add strength to that area of the pitch.
There is no shortage of interest though with Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and a number of other clubs said to be chasing a deal.
