Arsenal are showing an interest Lille winger Nicolas Pepe, but will face strong competition from a host of clubs for his signature. The Gunners were keeping tabs on the Ivory Coast international last season as he went on to score 13 goals in 36 appearances for the Ligue 1 side, but did not follow up by making a bid.
That could be about to change though as reports in France claim that Gunners scouts watched him in action at the weekend as he scored one goal and set up another in the opening day win over Rennes.
The Gunners could now try and line up a deal before the January transfer window opens again but there is also interest from Lyon, who could keep him in France, while Spanish sides Sevilla and Real Betis are also keen.
Pepe signed a five-year deal with Lille last year and the reports have also claimed the French side recently knocked back an offer of 35million euros for his services, so the Gunners would have to go above that to have a chance.
Southampton have also been mentioned as admirers and are reported to have failed with a £12.5million 12 months ago.
