Maurizio Sarri says Eden Hazard is ready for “50 or 60 minutes” when Chelsea travel to Newcastle United on Sunday. Hazard has been slowly integrated back into the first team after his exploits at the 2018 World Cup with Belgium, coming off the bench in both Premier League victories and registering two assists in the process.
The 27-year-old, who looks set to stay at Stamford Bridge this season, is now set to play a larger part in Sunday’s trip to St James’ Park to take on a Newcastle United side yet to taste success this term.
Midfielder Mateo Kovacic, who joined on a season-long loan from Real Madrid as part of the deal to take Thibaut Courtois to the European champions, is also expected to feature for an hour against the Magpies.
Sarri, who says he is not able to play a back five at the moment, will still be without midfielder Cesc Fabregas and forward Michy Batshuayi as the duo continue to recover from injury.
