Hodgson Looking To Be Impressed By Fringe Players

Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson says he is using the break to reassess his fringe players. The Eagles are without some of their big names due to their international commitments but Hodgson still has a healthy number of players to work with.

Palace have won just twice in the Premier League this season, a run that has left the veteran coach pondering his options.

The 71-year-old admits he would rather have a full complement to work with but says the break allows him to reassess some of those players he may have previously disregarded. “We, like most teams, would be happy to have a settled side,” he said.

“You hope that in the training sessions and with the substitutions those haven’t got into the 11 from the offset, they will be showing they should perhaps be there. “And I see the desire, the commitment of the players and players wanting to break in.”
