Hoffenheim Suffer Kasim Injury Blow

Hoffenheim have announced that defender Kasim Nuhu will be out of action for several weeks after suffering an ankle injury on Saturday. The 23-year-old limped off the pitch just before half time as Die Kraichgauer beat Freiberg 3-1 at the weekend, and was sent to hospital for tests.

Scans revealed that he has suffered tendon problems and now faces a period of rest and rehabilitation.

The former Young Boys defender picked up the problem during a collision with an opposite player and the club’s director of football, Alexander Rosen, has called on the squad to rally after yet another injury woe for coach Julian Nagelsmann to deal with.

“All this absurd misfortune we’ve faced is mitigated by the fact that we’re fortunate enough to have a number of extraordinary defensive players in our squad, who can all slot in and adapt to different systems,” he said.

“Given the challenges we’re facing, it’s so vitally important that we’ve put together a squad that has such balance and such depth.”
