Watford are reportedly set to offer CSKA Moscow around five million euros for their highly-rated striker Fyodor Chalov. The 20-year-old has a growing reputation in his homeland after making the breakthrough into the CSKA first XI in September 2016.
Chalov has gone on to score 22 goals in 63 appearances for the Russian Premier League outfit, including nine in 14 games already this season.
Clubs from across Europe are starting to take note and it is believed several are plotting to make an offer for the Russia Under-21 international’s signature.
Several agents in Russia have revealed that a Premier League club is interested and are ready to offer 5m euros, although they all added that CSKA value him a lot higher and the player seems in no rush to leave at this stage in his career.
One agent, Jamal Akayev, who is claimed to represent Chalov, was the first to name the Hornets, while adding French Ligue side Nice as another interested party who are willing to make a bigger offer.
He said: “Fedor is now one of the most interesting young forwards in Europe. It is normal that there is interest in him and a lot of rumours. “Personally, I was approached a week ago, by the main scout of Nice. He is very interesting to them.
And the amount that the club is ready to offer for the attacker is seriously more than the one that sounded previously for Watford. “But, as far as I know, Fedor before the summer is fully concentrated on games for CSKA.”
