Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe says he expects Jack Simpson to remain with the Cherries despite links with Rangers. The 21-year-old centre-back has been linked with a move north of the border to join Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox outfit on a loan deal.
However, Howe has admitted he would be reluctant to allow another player to go out on loan in case of injuries and believes it is more likely Simpson will be part of the Cherries squad this term.
He told the Daily Echo: “Let’s wait and see on that. I would doubt it.
“We have a streamlined squad, we don’t have big numbers and don’t have great strength in depth beyond the 20 players that I have available at the moment so I would be reluctant to lose anybody else.”
