Chris Hughton has suggested that Florin Andone could make his home debut for Brighton against Leicester on Saturday. The Seagulls boss snapped up the 25-year-old Romanian forward from relegated Spanish La Liga outfit Deportivo La Coruna for £5.25million in the summer transfer window.
However, Andone was unable to feature for Albion because he arrived with a groin injury and then suffered a thigh problem during his rehabilitation.
He is now back to fitness and featured off the substitutes’ bench late on in the defeat at Everton, while he also had a second half cameo role in the last-gasp 2-1 loss at Cardiff before the international break.
Looking ahead to the Premier League return against Leicester at the Amex Stadium on Saturday, Hughton has suggested that the home fans could get a first look at Andone in competitive action.
Hughton told The Argus: “It certainly would have been better to bring him on in a team that got something from the game. “He’ll get a good feel in the bits that he’s played of the Premier League.
“The problem with Florin is a couple of tweaks hampered his progress. As regards what he can do and the type of player he is, we know that anyway.”
