Hughton Impressed By Murray’s Longevity

Brighton manager Chris Hughton feels veteran striker Glenn Murray is showing no signs of slowing down despite now nearly being 35. Murray, who registered 12 Premier League goals last term, celebrates his 35th birthday next month.
He has led the line in all three of Albion’s top-flight games so far this season, opening his account with a deft finish in the recent victory over Manchester United.

The Seagulls host Fulham on Saturday and Hughton has backed Murray to continue hitting the net for the foreseeable future.
“When a player gets older, you don’t know how long they’ll be able to keep that level of pace up, that level of enthusiasm up, that level of desire up,” Hughton said.
“But it has to come from within and that’s why every player is different.
“It is down to the individual and Glenn does have a great desire to want to play, he has a great desire to play as long as possible, and thankfully for us he has a great desire to score goals.”

Albion have picked up three points from a possible nine during a tricky start to the season which has seen them face Jose Mourinho’s United and Liverpool.
The Seagulls have a 16-day rest following the weekend’s clash with the Cottagers due to the international break.
