Brighton’s Chris Hughton is hoping Shane Duffy, Alireza Jahanbakhsh and Beram Kayal come through their next internationals unscathed. The trio are all set to be in action on Tuesday night for their respective countries, while Hughton will have all his focus on picking up three points after the international break against Southampton on Monday.
Defender Duffy will be looking to help the Republic of Ireland bounce back after their 4-1 thrashing at the hands of Wales last thursday, as they prepare for a clash with Poland at the Wroclaw Stadium.
Record signing Jahanbakhsh will feature for Iran against Uzbekistan in Tashkent, while Kayal’s Israel make the trip to Belfast to meet Northern Ireland.
Hughton now faces a nervous wait to see if his players will come through the encounters unscathed and be fit and ready for the trip to St Mary’s on Monday night, before tough games against Tottenham and Manchester City.
