Vicente Iborra has revealed Leicester City blocked a return to former club Sevilla this summer. Iborra made the switch to the King Power Stadium from Sevilla last summer for a reported £15million and enjoyed 19 Premier League appearances during his debut season.
There were reports linking the 30-year-old with an exit from the Foxes in the recent transfer window and it was claimed Los Rojiblancos were keen on bringing the midfielder back to the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.
However Iborra, who has made just one substitute appearance this season, has now revealed there were discussions about a potential return to Spain but Leicester blocked the move.
“I always have a relationship with Sevilla,” he told Cadena Ser. “It’s a club that I still keep very close and there are always conversations.
“Apart from this, Leicester didn’t let me go, they consider me an important player and when you are valued like that you are also grateful.”
