Jahanbakhsh Excited For Home Bow

New Brighton forward Alireza Jahanbakhsh admits he cannot wait for his home debut as they face Manchester United on Sunday. The Iranian was the top soccer in the Eredivisie last season with AZ Alkmaar, netting 21 goals in 33 top flight appearances, earning him a move to the Premier League with the Seagulls for a club record undisclosed fee.

He made his debut for the club coming off the bench in their 2-0 loss to Watford at the weekend.

And the 25-year-old, who was part of the Iran squad at this summer’s World Cup, says he is looking forward to playing in front of the home fans.

“Every game is big and every opponent in the Premier League is a good side and will try to win every single game,” he told the Brighton and Hove Independent.

“Manchester United is a big club and it would nice to play against them, but I am more looking forward to playing a home game in front of our fans.

“As a new player, you want to have a good performance in your home games and it’s exactly the same for me.

“I always just do my best for the club, with good performances, and whenever the team needs me I will just do my thing and help my team-mates, my team and the manager to get the best results.”
