Johnson Underwhelmed By Season

Dustin Johnson has won three PGA Tour titles this season but he feels he should have accomplished more. The 34-year-old claimed victories in the Sentry Tournament of Champions, FedEx St. Jude Classic and RBC Canadian Open during 2018, while he has secured top 10 finishes in 10 of his 19 starts.

However, the American failed to add to his sole major triumph from the 2016 US Open, while he also lost his spot at the top of the world rankings, currently sitting behind Justin Rose and Brooks Koepka in the latest standings.

Johnson will be looking to end his PGA Tour season on a high by winning the FedEx Cup at this week’s Tour Championship, but he is certainly not satisfied with his year’s work.

“I’d say it’s probably like a B, if I’m giving myself a grade,” Johnson said in a pre-tournament press conference. “I’ve got three wins, I’ve got a lot of top 10s, but I had an opportunity to win a lot more tournaments than I did.”

The South Carolina native, who also has the Ryder Cup to look forward to later this month, feels he should have won more tournaments this year and he will be working hard to rectify his game once the season concludes.

“I feel like I should have won a lot more than I did, but I feel like I have a lot of room for improvement,” he added. “I’ve still got two big events to play well in coming up, but this off-season I’ve got a lot of work to do.”
