Juventus are not willing to sell key defender Daniele Rugani, who has no desire to leave, his agent has confirmed.
The 24-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from the club, with English Premier League side Chelsea known to be one of several clubs keen on doing a deal.
Rugani’s agent Davide Torchia has confirmed a huge offer was made by Chelsea, but says the Serie A champions have no intention of cashing in.
“Juventus have no desire to sell him, not even for a high price which, among other things, no-one in Italy could afford,” Torchia told RMC Sport.
“However, the player has never asked to leave. Only when a very important offer arrives is it normal to listen, but Juventus have rejected all kinds of offers to keep him in Turin.”
Torchia added: “Chelsea made a really big bid, which was close to being unthinkable for me, but Juventus didn’t relent. [Sami] Khedira played only 10 more games than Daniele last season.
“I think Rugani can play even more this season.”
Juve will be keen for Rugani to link up with fellow Italian international Leonardo Bonucci, who has returned to Turin this summer after one season with AC Milan.
