De Bruyne Remains Out For City

Manchester City are still without Kevin De Bruyne for Saturday’s home Premier League clash against Brighton. The Belgium international has been out of action for nearly two months with a knee problem and he is not yet fit enough to return to the fold for the contest at the Etihad Stadium.

However, the midfielder is expected to be back in training in the next few days and he could be in line for a comeback in the crucial clash against Liverpool at Anfield on October 7.

French World Cup winner Benjamin Mendy is also missing for the Citizens as he continues to recover from a foot injury, meaning Englishman Fabian Delph will continue to deputise, while goalkeeper Claudio Bravo is out with an Achilles problem.

With a trip to Hoffenheim on Tuesday for the second round of European fixtures, Pep Guardiola is expected to rotate his squad, with summer arrival Riyad Mahrez pushing for a start after impressing as a substitute in the last league fixture.
