Everton chairman Bill Kenwright admits he is excited about the club’s new stadium plans but he has called for patience from the fans. The Toffees are hoping to move on from Goodison Park and build a new facility at Bramley-Moore Dock in time for the 2022-23 campaign.
Everton will need to spend £500million for the project to go ahead and Kenwright has claimed “funding is going ahead”.
Liverpool City Council are reportedly willing to loan the club £280million and Kenwright insists the future is bright for the club.
He told TalkSPORT: “I am more than excited about the prospect of going to the Dock in Liverpool, having that major position.
“But as we always say any new stadium at this moment has to be carefully planned and thought out. The look at the problems poor Daniel (Levy) is having at Tottenham. It’s step by step, step by step.
“The architect is working hard, the council are with us, the funding is going ahead but we’re not there yet, we’re not there yet, but it’s very exciting, the prospect.”
