King Remains An Injury Concern

Bournemouth forward Josh King admits he only has a 50-50 chance of featuring in Saturday’s Premier League clash with Newcastle. The 26-year-old has been struggling with an ankle injury he picked up during the last international break with Norway and he has not featured at all since the Cherries goalless draw with Southampton on October 20.

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe had been hoping to have King available for this weekend’s trip to St James’ Park, but the forward himself has rated his chances as 50-50. “If I am not fit for the Newcastle game, I will not play the match.

Right now it’s 50/50,” King told TV2 in Norway. The former Blackburn star admits the injury has proved a problematic one, as he has been unable to put an exact time frame on his return, but he admits if he does not feature against Newcastle then he is unlikely to be available for Norway’s matches over the international break.

“If I’m not 100 percent, I cannot join the national team. My club will not let me do it either,” King added. “It’s a little special injury, because there’s no time frame on when I can come back. I just have to know myself when I feel good enough.”
