Stuttgart boss Tayfun Korkut was left frustrated after his side were held to a goalless draw by Fortuna Dusseldorf on Friday. Die Roten are still awaiting their first victory of the season in the Bundesliga after they were unable to break down their newly promoted opponents at the Mercedes-Benz Arena.
The result leaves Korkut’s men 15th in the early season standings after collecting just two points from their opening four games and they have played a game more than the sides directly below them in the table.
Korkut believes his side should have got more from Friday’s contest, but he felt their slow start was ultimately their undoing.
“We are somewhat disappointed by this draw,” the 44-year-old was quoted as saying on the club website.
“We were very unsettled in the first-half. In the second-half, we took more risks, which led to us being caught by the odd counter-attack, but we never allowed anything through.”
The former Bayer Leverkusen boss has now turned his attention to Wednesday’s away clash with Leipzig, as Stuttgart look to secure their first three points of the season.
He added: “We have to live with the point now and begin to prepare for next Saturday’s game in Leipzig.”
