Lucas Leiva is expected to be offered a new deal to extend his stay at Lazio, reports in Italy say. Lazio President Claudio Lotito has been impressed with the midfielder’s impact at the club since he joined from Liverpool in summer 2017 and he’s reportedly ready to offer the 31-year-old an extension beyond his current deal which expires in 2020.
Lucas has been a big hit at Lazio, scoring four goals and managing seven assists in 52 appearances, while turning in consistent displays from the middle of the park and there are even suggestions that Lotito wants to offer the Brazilian a role at the club when he eventually retires from playing.
Lucas has previously said he would like to return to old club Gremio back in his homeland to finish his career but a new offer from Lazio could change his mind.
