Real Madrid coach Julen Lopetegui insists he trusts all three of his goalkeepers and the debate as to who is number one is ongoing. The former Spain manager has an embarrassment of riches between the posts, with Keylor Navas and Kiko Casilla joined by Thibaut Courtois from Chelsea this summer.
Navas has been in possession of the shirt early on, with Courtois acting as back-up, but it may well be that the custodians are rotated throughout the campaign.
Lopetegui admits it will be tough to keep them all happy and would be content to play any of the trio.
“I have great confidence in all three goalkeepers,” he told reporters. “The problem I have is that only one can play in each game, but that does not mean the two who are not on the pitch do not have my trust, and they know that.
“It is a situation I am employed to manage and delegate, to choose one of three great options, but we must continually evaluate the situation.”11 BUSINESS NUGGETS FROM SUPER EAGLES BRONZE MEDAL TRIUMPH. The content of this ebook will propel you above your competition. Buy NOW!!!
