AC Milan hero Paolo Maldini says the club must focus on all competitions and not prioritise just one. Milan are hopeful of getting back to the top of Italian football, despite the club suffering financial problems, resulting in an initial punishment of being thrown out of this season’s Europa League due to overspending.
However, the punishment was quashed and they will be challenging for that trophy as well as Serie A, as teams try and stop Juventus’ seven-year stranglehold.
And Maldini, who is currently serving as a strategy and development director at the Gennaro Gattuso-managed club, says they must aim big.
Maldini said “It would be absurd to choose which competition to do seriously and which one is not.
“After the group also the EL becomes very complicated, you cannot take it into account. We can compete, according to our judgment, to reach the top four in the league and make an excellent Europa League.”
