German midfielder Julian Draxler is enjoying life under Thomas Tuchel after his countryman took the coaching role at PSG. The German international has often been linked with a move away from Paris because of a lack of game time but Draxler is happy with the way things are going under Tuchel. “It’s a special situation for me because he’s German.
We are quite close and we speak a lot,” said Draxler. “At the start it was a bit difficult because I wasn’t playing much but I already knew that he was a very good coach. He is calm, conveys his confidence, understands football. “It’s been great until now and I hope it continues.”

This weekend the Ligue 1 table-toppers take on Toulouse and although Draxler predicts a tough encounter, he is already looking ahead to the must-win Champions League clash with Liverpool next week. “It won’t be an easy game because we have a lot of players just coming back from international duty. Before Liverpool, we play Toulouse. It’s important to play well on Saturday to prepare for Wednesday,” he added. “It will be important to produce a complete performance, but above all to win. We have a lot of respect for Toulouse and for every team here in Ligue 1.”
