Milan spoke to Cesc Fabregas’s representatives on Tuesday with a view to signing the Chelsea man in January, according to reports.
The former Arsenal and Barcelona midfielder looks to have slipped down the Blues’ pecking order, playing just 48 minutes of Premier League football this season.
The 31-year-old will be free agent at the end of the campaign, meaning he is free to speak to clubs in January about a summer move, but it seems the Serie A giants are keen to get a deal done in the new year.

Antonio Vitiello of Milan News is reporting the Rossoneri are preparing a two-and-a-half-year contract offer for the man capped 110 times by Spain, with dialogue already underway between the parties involved.
Fabregas has been at Stamford Bridge since 2014 but is not part of Maurizio Sarri’s plans.
