Martin Montoya could make his Brighton debut against Manchester United on Sunday with skipper Bruno ruled out through injury. Spanish defender Bruno injured his hamstring during the opening-day defeat at Watford and could be replaced by deadline-day signing Montoya, who is available to make his debut.
Romanian forward Florin Andone remains out with a groin injury, while Colombia winger Jose Izquierdo will not be involved as he returns to fitness following his involvement at the World Cup.
Boss Chris Hughton was disappointed with the performance of his team in the 2-0 loss to Watford and could opt to make changes, Yves Bissouma and record signing Alireza Jahanbakhsh having both come off the bench at Vicarage Road.
“We were very disappointed with the performance last week,” Hughton said. “We can win or lose anywhere, particularly away from home, and we didn’t expect a comfortable game. If you lose in a manner you can accept, that’s okay, but the performance was not at a level we expected.
“I need to make decisions on the changes I need to make. It’s a bad start for us. We need a reaction.”
