Brighton striker Glenn Murray says he is happy with how his side have started the new season but hopes they improve further.
The Seagulls have picked up four points in their opening four games, including a 3-2 win over Manchester United.
Murray says Brighton were disappointed to lose to Watford in their season-opener but he has been pleased with the response since.
“After a disappointing start to the season, bouncing back with three good performances, two of which were against the so-called top six [United and Liverpool], and taking some points – I’m pleased with that,” he told the club’s official website.
“We were caught cold against Watford, and we thought they were above par at the time. But after the start they’ve had – they could be the real deal this season, the surprise package.
“Going to Anfield is quite a daunting task and we gave a very good account of ourselves, kept our shape and worked very hard. We could have taken something towards the end with a bit of luck.
“We took points against Manchester United – so despite the positive performance, the Liverpool result [a 1-0 loss] wasn’t as important, because at the end of the day, we need to take points from as many games as possible.”
