Nakeeta Coming Into Form – Jardine

Trainer Iain Jardine feels Nakeeta is coming into form at just the right time as he gears up for the Sky Bet Ebor at York. The seven-year-old has failed to pick up a victory since winning the Ebor at York last season, having running on four further occasions.

He did pick up a fifth-place finish in the Melbourne Cup in November and Jardine admits he has been allowing his stable star to take it easy in the meantime.

Nakeeta is expected to be firmly tested in York on Saturday with Stratum for company, however, Jardine feels he will come good at just the right time.

Jardine said: “He’s taken a bit of time to come to himself this year having been away in Australia, but I’ve not pushed him, I’ve just let him come to himself and he’s a horse that comes right at this time of year so we’re excited.

“We think he’s at the top of his game, so we’ll keep our fingers crossed for a great run.
“York is a fair track, he was drawn 18 last year so with a middle draw again, I’ll be happy. They always go a good gallop which plays into his hands.”
