Neymar Plays Down Tuchel Rift Claims

Neymar has denied he was angry with Paris Saint-Germain boss Thomas Tuchel’s decision to substitute him in the victory over Rennes. The capital club secured a 3-1 triumph to extend their lead at the top of the Ligue 1 standings as Angel Di Maria, Thomas Meunier and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting bagged the goals.

All seems well with the Parc des Princes outfit but sections of the media suggested that Neymar’s slow trudge off the pitch when given the hook by Tuchel in the 91st minute was a show of dissent against his boss.

However, the Brazil international hitman, who handed his shirt to an emotional fan as he left the action, has denied those accusations.

“Of course, no player likes to leave the game, but now this isn’t the case for me to be angry at having left the pitch today, it’s even good for me to recover for the next game,” he said.

“I am happy with the affection I receive when playing away, even more when it’s from a kid, it’s more natural, it’s something very pure, so whenever I can I will do everything to return the affection I receive.”
