No Game Time In Sight For Foxes Duo

No Game Time In Sight For Foxes Duo

Claude Puel insists he respects forgotten men Danny Simpson and Andy King but must always put the team before any individual. Simpson and King were part of the side that claimed an incredible Premier League title win in the 2015-16 season and will go down as legends at the club, but both seem destined to leave.

King has featured in 378 games in all competitions for the East Midlanders but has not even been included in Leicester’s Premier League squad for this season and so it seems inevitable he will look for a way out in January.

The midfielder has been playing for the Under-23s in order to keep his fitness levels up, while Simpson, who has been included in the Premier League squad but has yet to make an appearance, has also featured for the age-group side.

Puel knows it is tough on the duo but has kept them informed on where they stand with him.

“I discussed with them the difficulties they can have to gain game time with us,” he said. “We have a lot of competition in the team for places and of course we can’t give all the game time we want to all the players.”

It remains to be seen if the players remain at the King Power Stadium after the winter window but the French tactician has made it clear he faces an impossible task to keep everyone happy.

“I respect Danny and Andy but I had to choose to take my responsibility to the team, but to respect them also,” he added. “We have to respect all the players but without the possibility to give them the game time they would like.”
