Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak has let the cat out of the bag by suggesting Filipe Luis will sign for Paris Saint-Germain. Reports in Spain claim that a verbal agreement has already been reached between the two clubs that will see the defender head to Paris before the transfer window closes.
Speaking after Atleti’s 1-1 draw with Valencia in La Liga on Monda night, Oblak told reporters Luis will soon be on the move.
“It’s a bit sad but that’s how it is,” he said. “Filipe has a good opportunity and you have to respect a player’s decision. Let’s see what happens.”
However coach Diego Simeone had a different opinion after the game and he expects the defender to stay with Atletico.
“I think so, yes,” he said when asked if Luis would remain at the Wanda Metropolitano.
Clubs have until August 31 to wrap up any signings and it now remains to be seen where the 33-year-old will end up before that deadline.
