Crystal Palace have allowed teenage winger Jason Lokilo to join French Ligue 2 club Lorient on a season-long loan. The 19-year-old has come through the ranks at Selhurst Park after joining from Anderlecht in 2014 and he impressed for the club’s development side last season, scoring nine goals in 26 appearances.
However, the DR Congo under-20 international is yet to make the transition into the first team, with his only senior Palace appearance to date coming in last season’s 2-1 victory over Ipswich in the Carabao Cup.
Lokilo has featured a further four times on the Eagles bench in the Premier League, most recently against Tottenham in February, but he will now spend the rest of the season on loan with Lorient, where he will be hoping to play on a more regular basis.
Lorient are managed by former France international goalkeeper Mickael Landreau and they have a good reputation for developing young players, with the likes of Laurent Koscielny, Yoann Gourcuff, Andre-Pierre Gignac and Seydou Keita having spent time at the Stade du Moustoir in the past.
