Mauricio Pochettino hailed the performance of Son Heung-min after Tottenham beat Chelsea 3-1 at Wembley. Goals from Dele Alli and Harry Kane put them two up inside 16 minutes and Son Heung-min made it three after the break with a brilliant solo goal.
It was a 10th win from 13 games this season for Mauricio Pochettino’s men and the rampant showings of Kane, Alli, Son and Christian Eriksen will have the Argentinian licking his lips at the prospect of what might be to come.
They could have won by a far bigger margin had it not been for some wayward finishing and some impressive saves from Kepa Arrizabalaga, and it was the performance of Son in particular that caught the eye.
“You can see on the pitch that Son’s performance was fantastic and you can see he deserved it, because the summer for him was very difficult,” said Pochettino. “In the last international break he was here, training hard.
It is one of the reasons today that he showed he is fresh. His physical condition is much better and I think it is going to help him for the rest of the season. “[His goal] was fantastic. Everyone that saw the game was in love with the action. It was a fantastic capacity to make what he made — an outstanding action for a very good player like him.”
