Real Madrid have had a bid for Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic rejected, according to reports. The report suggests that Madrid tried to coax the Serie A club with a 95million euro offer, but have been turned down, with Lazio insisting he is not for sale.
The Italian transfer window closed last week and with the bid being lodged a day before it was due to shut, it allowed no time for Lazio to land a replacement.
Transfers in Spain are still ongoing until the end of the month, but even if the Italian window was still open and they could source a replacement, the fee is said to be well below the asking price, which is thought to be between 120 and 150 million euros.
It has been a frustrating window for Julen Lopetegui’s new side so far as they have not yet replaced Cristiano Ronaldo, and appear to be struggling to get deals over the line.
