Trainer Carlos Laffon-Parias believes Recoletos was a worthy winner of the Prix du Moulin de Longchamp on Sunday.
The 5/2 favourite edged out Wind Chimes to win his second Group 1 contest, the four-year-old leaving it late under jockey Olivier Peslier to triumph by a very tight margin.
Laffon-Parias was pleased with the success and believes the best horse and jockey in the race came out on top.
He said: “I had the best horse and the best jockey in the race – Olivier has been with me for all my best triumphs – and when he came there I thought he would win more easily but the filly really fought hard at the end.
“That was a good Group 1 race today and he did it well. Conditions were not a problem as all his best races have come on on good ground.”
Recoletos is next expected to head to Ascot for Champions Day on October 20 where he will be aimed at the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes.
