Lancashire have signed South Africa spinner Keshav Maharaj for their last four Country Championship games of 2018. Maharaj adds plenty of experience to the Red Rose ranks and has been named in the squad for Wednesday’s four-day game against Worcestershire at Southport.
The 28-year-old has featured in 22 Test matches, claiming 90 wickets, while he took nine wickets in a single innings against Sri Lanka in July.
Maharaj told Lancashire’s official website: “I’m thrilled to be signing for Lancashire for the remainder of the season. Having previously played in England with South Africa, it’s been an ambition of mine to return and play county cricket.
“I’m very much looking forward to joining up with the squad and hopefully I can make a significant contribution to help the team during my time here.”
Lancashire currently sit bottom of Division One and they face a tough-looking end to the season, with three away games against Somerset, Yorkshire and Hampshire.
