Liverpool midfielders Jordan Henderson and Naby Keita will both miss Saturday’s game against Cardiff with hamstring injuries. Reds manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed both Henderson and Keita have failed to recover in time for the Bluebirds’ visit this weekend and will not be included in his match-day squad.
The duo sat out the midweek Champions League win over Red Star Belgrade and, in their absence, Fabinho was given a start so will hope to keep his place, although Adam Lallana and James Milner, who were both on the bench against the Serbians, are also pushing for recalls.
Klopp has no other new injury or suspension worries but may opt to rotate at the back again with Dejan Lovren hoping to come back in at centre-half, possibly pushing Joe Gomez back out to the right in place of Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Xherdan Shaqiri has impressed in recent games and should retain his place in the XI, while Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah, who all got on the scoresheet against Red Star, will look for more goals between them up front as Klopp’s side aim to maintain their unbeaten league start.
