Arsenal defender Stephan Lichtsteiner says he has no regrets about moving to the Emirates despite a lack of game time so far this term. The experienced right-back, who called time on his successful spell with Juventus this summer, has only made one substitute appearance for the Gunners so far this season, with Hector Bellerin above him in the pecking order.
Lichsteiner has revealed he had options to play elsewhere and get more game time but the 34-year-old is more than happy with his decision to test himself in the Premier League with the Gunners.
“I could have changed to five other clubs in the summer, knowing that I would certainly play 47 out of 50 serious matches,” he told Swiss media.
“It doesn’t irritate me, as in 2011, when I moved to Juventus, I wanted to join a big club. I was looking for a demanding challenge in a new league.
“That’s why I knew from the very beginning at Arsenal that I had to fight for the regular spot against Hector Bellerin.”
