Former Brazil international Rivaldo is adamant Richarlison warrants the £40million Everton paid for him this summer. Everton made a calculated gamble when splashing out a huge amount to acquire Richarlison from Watford and the Merseysiders have already seen the good and the bad of the forward.
The 21-year-old scored three goals from as many Premier League matches before being shown a red card in the 2-2 draw against Bournemouth for an altercation with Adam Smith.
Despite the dismissal, Richarlison has been called up to Brazil’s squad for the current internationals and Rivaldo believes his compatriot will turn out to be a good investment for the Toffees.
“Nowadays it’s hard to know if a player really deserves the money spent on him because transfer values are high,” he said. “I believe he’ll justify the investment at Everton. He is making things happen.
“He’s producing solid performances in the Premier League and is clearly a good player with great potential that could be really important for Brazil soon.”
