Liverpool defender Andy Robertson has been told he may have to switch from left-back to right-back to help out Scotland. Robertson has been in outstanding form for the Reds this season and has five assists to his name already for Jurgen Klopp’s men.
Internationally he and Celtic’s Kieran Tierney are both vying for the left back spot with Scotland boss Alex Macleish switching to five at the back to fit them in, but ultimately one will have to switch to the right according to Scotland legend Danny McGrain.
McGrain said: “One of them is going to have to learn to kick with their right. It’s as simple as that. “Andy and Kieran have been used to playing at left-back their whole life. “The Scotland manager has to make that call about who plays where. “One of those players just has to make their weaker foot stronger.”
Robertson is Scotland’s skipper and will lead his side to Albania on Saturday, before facing Israel on Tuesday as their UEFA Nations League campaign draws to a close.
