Santos starlet Rodrygo has revealed he is set to join up with La Liga giants Real Madrid next summer and not in January.
A deal has already been agreed to bring the 17-year-old to the Spanish capital in July but there have since been suggestions the move could be brought forward to January.
Real have been struggling this season and there were claims Rodrygo’s switch could be brought forward to add reinforcements at the Santiago Bernabeu.
However, the teenager has now claimed he is focused on his duties at Santos and has no initial plans to move to Los Blancos next month. “It’s agreed that I’m going in July,” Rodrygo told Brazilian outlet Gazeta Esportiva.
“[There is an] agreement between Santos and Real Madrid, so I do not think there is a possibility of going before. “[Real’s situation] may be different, I’ll know when I get there.”
