Rosenior Relishing Coaching Role

Liam Rosenior is relishing his new coaching role with Brighton after retiring from playing at the end of last season. The 34-year-old brought his 16-year playing career to an end after only featuring three times for the Seagulls in the Premier League last term and he quickly accepted a position to work alongside Simon Rusk and Shannon Ruth as part of the club’s under-23 setup.

Rosenior is certainly enjoying his new role and he has confirmed he has already learned a lot from the rest of the staff as he takes his first steps into the coaching world.

“It’s been absolutely brilliant, I couldn’t have asked for it to go any better. It’s been great to work with the likes of Simon [Rusk], Jon Morling and Shannon Ruth,” Rosenior told the club website.

“Even Vic Bragg as well, he’s been at the club for years and brought through so many players. Just sitting in the office and learning from them every day has been great.”

Brighton’s Under-23s have enjoyed a strong start to the season, as they are unbeaten from their opening four matches in Premier League 2 Division One, with the highlight being last month’s 5-0 victory over Manchester City.

Rosenior has certainly been pleased with the way his side have been performing.

“On top of that, the players have done really well to remain unbeaten, playing against some of the top sides in the league,” he added. “Beating Manchester City 5-0 was brilliant. It’s been an amazing experience so far and I hope it continues.”
