George Russell will take up a seat with Williams in 2019 but he insists he isn’t concerned about a lack of pace. Russell was confirmed as a new driver by Williams last month after the youngster put pen to paper on a multi-year deal.
He is currently the frontrunner in GP2 but will head to Formula One in 2019 to link up with a team currently propping up the constructors’ standings.
The 20-year-old insists he isn’t paying too much attention to the current issues with Williams and feels things can change very quickly in F1.
Russell said: “Formula 1 changes so fast. Last year Williams was fifth in the Constructors’ World Championship and two years before that were third. “Next year is a massive opportunity and everyone is so motivated and hungry to improve.”
